Ricochet or Santos Escobar will leave WWE SmackDown on Friday with a shiny new trophy and a chance to fight GUNTHER for the intercontinental championship. Ricochet vs. Escobar in the finals of the SmackDown World Cup takes place at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York at 8 p.m. ET.
Ricochet defeated an injured Mustafa Ali and Braun Strowman, thanks to unwanted aide by Imperium, to secure his spot in the tournament’s final round. Escobar, buoyed by his associates in Legado Del Fantasma, overcame Shinsuke Nakamura and Butch to reach the tournament’s final chapter.
SmackDown will open with a match between Survivor Series WarGames combatants Sami Zayn and Sheamus. Forced to choose between his career-long bond with Kevin Owens or his newfound friendship with The Bloodline, Zayn sided with the latter and lifted The Bloodline to victory. Damage CTRL — comprised of Bayley and women’s tag team champions Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky — make a rare departure from Raw to visit the blue brand.
